1.1 Information you give us. When you subscribe to The Runway Briefing we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address and the content of your message.

1.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect: IP address; approximate location derived from IP address; browser type and version; operating system and device type; referring page; the pages you view and the time spent on them; and cookie or similar identifiers.

1.3 Advertising and analytics identifiers. We use cookies, pixels, web
beacons and similar technologies, including identifiers set by
third-party advertising and analytics vendors, as described in
Section 3.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information above to: deliver and operate the Site; send The
Runway Briefing to subscribers who have opted in; respond to enquiries
and corrections; measure readership and understand which topics are
useful; display advertising that funds the publication; detect abuse,
fraud and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.

Our legal bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR are: your consent (for
newsletter subscription and for non-essential cookies and personalised
advertising); our legitimate interests (operating, securing and
measuring the Site, and funding it through advertising); performance of
a contract (delivering the newsletter you asked for); and legal
obligation.

  1. COOKIES, ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS

3.1 Essential cookies. The Site sets cookies required for core
functionality – for example, remembering your cookie choices and
maintaining session state. These cannot be switched off without breaking
the Site.

3.2 Advertising cookies. The Site is funded by advertising. We use
Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including
Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site
and to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it
and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site
and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google by visiting
Google’s Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. You can opt out
of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by
visiting https://www.aboutads.info (US) or
https://www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK). If you are in the European
Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can review and
change your advertising choices at any time through the consent banner
on the Site.

3.3 Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, configured with IP anonymisation, or privacy-focused analytics provided
by our host to measure aggregate readership. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how visitors use the Site; data may be transferred to and processed in the United States under applicable safeguards. We do not use analytics data to identify individuals.

3.4 Managing cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your
browser settings, and you can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies
through the consent banner. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the
Site work but will not prevent you from reading our content.

  1. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service
providers who process it on our behalf or as described here:

  • Advertising and monetisation partners, including Google AdSense and
its advertising partners, as described in Section 3.

    or sold.
  1. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Our service providers may process personal data outside your country,

short period afterwards where needed to honour your opt-out. Contact-form
messages are retained for up to [24] months. Server logs are retained for
